Kristin Fischer is set to join CNN as CNN's Space and Defense Correspondent in July 2021. In her new position, Fisher will cover everything including NASA's new Space Force to commercial space business and the emergence of space tourism. Kristin is mother of NASA astronauts, and also a space enthusiast has spent her entire childhood within the space industry. She served for five years as the White House correspondent for FOX News covering space policy under the Biden and Trump Administrations. In this time, she covered the presidential 2020 campaign, two impeachment trials as well as two initiatives to end the corona virus pandemic, and two other administrations' efforts. The former president Donald Trump traveled to Afghanistan in a trip that was highly restricted. Before joining the network in 2015, Kristin spent nearly a decade working her way up through local TV news markets in Grand Junction, Colorado; Little Rock, Arkansas; and Washington, D.C. where she received an Emmy Award as a one-man-band reporter for the Washington, D.C.'s CBS affiliate. Using her skills in front of the camera Kristin founded Field Mouse Films in 2014. The company was a specialist in documentary style films for clients of corporate nature, including Uber as well as Starwood Hotels & Resorts. Kristin is a graduate of journalism at Boston University. The couple's husband and daughter reside in Washington, D.C.
