Antonietta Collins
Antonietta Toni Gonzalez Collins (born in Mexico) is an Mexican American journalist. Her current role is a sportscaster for ESPN who is also anchor for SportsCenter as well as hosting SportsNation. Since 2016, Collins has was a part of ESPN. She's the daughter of TV reporter Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta Collins is a bilingual woman and has been since her age of nine. Her ability in this area has helped her get her first position at Univision, Miami. She could work alongside national producers on shows like Nuestra Belleza Latina Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud Primer Impacto. Her next assignment was reporter for sports at The CBS St. Petersburg Affiliate. In 2009 she moved to Rio Grande Valley, Texas for work as an investigative reporter for KNVO TV 48 Univision. Spanish station KNVO TV 48 Univision and Fox2 News. She covered stories about the issue of immigration and trafficking drugs across both Texas and Mexico. She also filled in for sports anchors and weather forecasters. Deportes 23 was Univision Dallas affiliate and she assumed more responsibilities. She wrote pieces to sports like the NBA, Dallas Cowboys' postseason games, NBA ALDS ALCS World Series or Finals FC Dallas. The Univision 23 channel also produced her local sports channel Accion Deportiva Extra, on which she served as anchor. She became a sports host for the morning show on Despierta America Deportes. She held the same position in Primer Impacto magazine and Contacto Deportivo on the UniMas Network. Antonietta Collins was a native of the city of Veracruz, Mexico. At some point they relocated from Veracruz Mexico to Mexico City where she was born on November 22 1985. She has a sister. Her family left in 1992 Mexico and moved to Miami. Her parents divorced soon after and, in 1995, she was married a naval designer named Fabio Fajardo. Fabio Fajardo died in 2006 due to kidney cancer. The summer in 2006 she took one week with her sibling at Canton Ohio. The older Collins girl was employed there. At the time of her senior year in high school but with a clear idea about what she wanted to pursue in her future, Antonietta went to the University of Mount Union to examine if it was a good fit for her needs. The campus was stunning and offered the degree she was looking for. After completing her studies, she was accepted to the University as a major in media studies. Mark Bergmann was her professor and the manager of WRMU in which she's a member. They had a very close friendship. Mark's passion for journalism and confidence in her own abilities inspired her. She in turn, tried to meet his expectations and never fail him.
